A great addition to your Mickey Mouse collection! This Lorus Mickey Mouse Bowtie wristwatch features a coin-style gold-tone fixed bezel with a black-tipped crown. We estimate this piece to be from the late 1980's to early 1990's and has a quartz movement and a stainless steel caseback.

Lorus was made and marketed by Seiko Watch Corporation and began in 1982 in Europe. Lorus complemented Pulsar and Seiko brands and was successful because of the high design and technology standards at an affordable price.

Disney character watches began in 1933, when the first Mickey Mouse watch was manufactured, which is commonly considered by most people to be the first comic character wristwatch. Ingersoll (now known as Timex) first had the license to manufacture Disney watches from 1933 until 1968. Post 1968, several companies were licensed to produce Mickey Mouse watches, many of which were sold exclusively in Disneyland.

The gold-toned dial features Mickey Mouse looking fancy, wearing his special bowtie. This same image is shown on the stainless steel case back. The dial shows some patina, is signed LORUS QUARTZ and ©Walt Disney Productions, has a gold-tone central second hand with black hour and minute hands. Also written on the dial is JAPAN V321-6050 R with the Seiko Quartz logo.

It has a 31mm round case with a good crystal. This piece is nicely complimented with a uniquely designed 18 mm hole-punched leather two-piece strap with a gold-toned buckle.

This fun wristwatch runs very well and keeps great time!

This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
